Hi all, not sure if i am putting this in the right spot. i tried searching for this topic, and didnt find anything, so either i am no good at the search function, or i'm looking in the wrong place.
So, i just converted from my 03 7.3l F350 to a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with the LBZ duramax and the 6 speed allison transmission. i am going to be dd'ing this truck and wanted to lay down some baseline numbers and compare to what others have found.
My truck is stock, except for a 4 inch MBRP exaust with muffler, and 265/75/16's BFG at's, and she has 70k on her.
I just put 400 miles on the truck (with about 120 towing my 24ft enclosed trailer, only 20 of the miles were loaded with an old vette, so not much weight, and the 100 miles were all highway with the trailer). The rest of the miles were 75% highway, and 25% local. I was driving the truck very nice, limited to 65 on highway, and got up to speed nice and slow (never over 2k RPM). Not the most fun way to drive but i wanted to see what numbers she put down.
I ended up only getting 14.5 MPG for this test, and i am a bit surprised that its that low. I am going to be getting a tune from Ridge Runner Diesel here in CT, and i am hoping that is going to help. Is this about what folks are getting out of their stock tune, driving nice? If my MPG is way off, what could be contributing to this. tires are aired up to operating pressure, no check engine light on. I just dont know.
Thanks for any input ya'all have!:hello:
