Has anyone played with the fuel level sensor. My truck has a 34 Gal tank and the fuel lite comes on around 26.
I moved Second from the bottom up to 4 gal. and when going up a hill It started to sputter like it was out of fuel.I am trying to get the fuel lite closer to empty but it seems the pickup tube must be a little higher off the bottom than I thought.
Thanks Darryl

To me it looks like the sending unit is bad. If you never made any changes tot he fuel sensor table then I would the sensor is bad.

Do you by chance have a bed fuel tank that you are gravity feeding into the fuel tank?
With the Air Dog is it the 150 one? If so did this start like when you added it?

Only thing I can say is drop the tank and add and remove fuel and check what the ECM is seeing. If it hits a big jump in reading or dead stop then replace sending unit.

While you have it dropped see if it moves freely. maybe something is in the arm pivot points and once the sensor stays at a certain point for an extended time the fuel gauge will drop to empty. his is why I asked about the bed fuel tank. The common result of feeding fuel while driving is the fuel gauge will drop to empty and low fuel comes on until the fuel tank in the bed is empty and the level in the stock fuel tank starts to drop. Once it does then it starts reading the fuel level again and works fine all the way down.

One just have to see the value the sending unit is at and see if the ECM is reading the same. If so then to me the sending unit is bad. Sorry if I am not fully understanding what is going on. If the value does not change from 1/2 tank to empty I doubt you can do much about that. If the output varies all the way but not as big as curve say from 1/2 to full then you could recalibrate the level sensor table.

Brian I will try to explain a little better. My low fuel lite comes on at 26 gal. used and its a 34 gal. tank.
So I moved the value on the efi tune on the second slot to 4 gal. then moved the third to 8 gal on the fuel level senser and now my lite dont come on anymore.
I was just trying to see if anyone else had done any adjusting on it and find out how they adjusted it.
Thanks for trying to help Bryan.

I understand what you have done now. As long as it works doing that then it should be fine. That would be the way I see how to resolve the issue.
