Changed the fuel filter today, the time before i had it changed at a quik lube. Being my first time i was extremely careful and noticed one of the wires on the wif sensor was broke off. Disconnected sensor at the plug and somewhere along the way the other wire just fell off as well. Will this throw codes or cause any driveability issues?

It can be completely unplugged and not cause check engine light. Many have deleted this. Just remember if you delete or permanantly unplug it, you are forfeiting your ability to be warned by the computer that you may have water in your fuel.

I'd be running the same risk as if i were putting on a cat filter then, correct? Thanks for the reply.

Yes Cat filter is AWESOME filtration but does not give you water seperation. Most would argue money is better spent on a lift pump such as a Fass or Airdog that features a water separator and a 2 micron filter.

FYI you can run the CAT 2 micron filter on an Airdog pump

Yes on the Cat Filter IF you delete the OEM filter. Who broke the wires the Quicky Lube Place?

Pretty much. Looks like they twisted it off without unplugging it. The other one was so gone it seperated when i set it down to clean.

That's what i plan on doing when I have the cash. Airdog w/big cat filter and delete stock filter head. Thanks guys.

You shouldnt have any problems with the WIF sensor not connected. The 1st time I ever changed my fuel filter I had a hard time taking off the WIF sensor. (Dealer use to change my fuel filter.) I ended up cracking the WIF sensor as I took it off. The cost of a new WIF sensor from my local dealer was $60 or so. The cost of a WIF sensor delete plug was $35. I ended up getting the WIF sensor delete plug.
