Has anyone replaced their factory unit with an aftermarket unit? Seems it would be pretty easy and cheap too....
I've read about several cracked units, sucking air and such. It would be nice to swap it for a unit that accepted a filter with a small micron rating, similar to the CATs and such.

I also wondered if there was a way to mount a CAT filter. Not the 749 but the shorter version.
yea, I'd like to get rid of the factory filter head altogether, don't need the prime button, I don't think the WIF does much. and filter heads are cheap, would be a cool mod.
I think I'm gonna give it a shot, if no one can think of any reason not to. Could always keep/add secondary filtration like in the DIY section with a filter to catch all the big stuff.
