Fuel filter delete question

I wasn't sure where to post this but I have an 03 duramax and I put on an airdog 165 with a cat filter on there and water separator. That is all working good the problem is when I went to cap off the fuel filter housing I couldn't get the nicktane adapter off in the truck so I pulled the whole housing and I think I went wrong by clamping it too hard in a vice and maybe cracked or warped it? The delete cap went on a little too hard at the end and it has a slight leak while running. I was wondering if I could hose barb the in and out hoses to the housing and bypass it entirely. Is this possible? And is it 3/8" or 1/2" hose?

It's 1/2" hose. Yes you can bypass it..

Best way I've found Id spare airdog hose from the ficm routed around to the hard lines.. Basically take the two factory hoses off and route the new hose in their place.

Are you saying to buy new hose or to change my installation on the airdog. Or maybe I'm not understanding?

He's saying take the extra hose you have leftover from your Air Dog installation and use a piece of it to go from the FICM to the motor, effectively bypassing the factory fuel filter.

I don't have any extra hose that I'm aware of. I did the install a little while ago. Would the hose barb idea not work or cause too much restriction?

You will be fine using the barb. It is just a cleaner install if you use only one hose.

Stainless or aluminum work ok I take it? Or can I just use the old hose that goes from the ficm to the filter if I don't have extra airdog hose?

Brass, stainless, about anything other than steel.

Yes you can use original hose. Just make sure it's not kinked when your done
