Looking for the differences in the front pumps between the 05 and older and the 06 and up. My wear plate and ring gear are vibrating on the converter and causing a terrible whining that gets louder with rpm. Have a good 05 pump that I would like to use, if they are interchangeable? Heard the metal in the older pumps was better and holds up to higher pressures better ? Thanks

There have been multiple revisions/updates to the pumps over the years. I have good luck with the latest pump design. I'm not sure what if they are made of different materials or not but the latest design is supposed to be the quietest. I haven't had an issues with it.

Do you know if they are interchangeable? Will a 05 pump work without issue? I noticed that there is quite a bit of difference between the 05 and 06 pumps I have here.

I see no reason why you couldn't use an older pump in a newer transmission. However, keep the main body, the gear set, and the backplate together as a set.
