Front diff welding.

Can somebody put a pic up of what all needs to be welding on the front diff to lock the gears. I dont wanna mess up somehow And not be able to drive or turn.

You need to remove the carrier from the diff and then weld the spider gears to themselves and also weld them to the case itself.

Can you still drive it fine in 2wd with out the front wheels locked up

as long as the axle disconnect is still working you will be able to turn and drive on the street. Good luck turning when you put it in 4wd though :roflmao: also the front driveshaft will always be spinning after you weld it.

Turning it on 4wd with no weight up front is fine...launching in 4wd on the track is fine...launching with too much boost on the street in street trim with high hp...not so fine

Shadetree way and what we had time for before track time are two different things. It held through several hard launches, but didn't like the new motor launching at 25psi....the new one, welded identically, is holding just fine. Fwiw, mine didn't just break the welds, it sheared teeth off with it too
