Hey guys lately I've noticed what seems to be a wheel bearing going bad noise coming from my front end, I've checked myself and it's been in for alignment a couple times lately due to mechanic error on setup and they've checked also. Wheel bearings are good, so I noticed when I changed the oil a leak on my front diff where the case splits. Went to change the oil in it and the drain plug had quite a bit of shavings on it lots more then I would have liked to see and i drained maybe half a litre out of it... So cleaned the case filled it back up and a day later noticed the leak again. Noise got a little quieter but not much. I feel like my lack of investigation may have wrecked some bearings inside.

My question now is, what should I be replacing when I go in there and what can I can use to make it stronger then stock, I don't want to split it open just to put stock back in if there is better out there, I have done some searching but not much, will do more just wanted to ask on here for some quick guidance possibly because I'm away from home for work and if something goes I want to be able to have parts on hand ready!

Unless you're looking to add a selectable locker, there really isn't anything other than stock parts or stock equivalent for the 9.5" ft diff...OEM gears will end up being the quietest operating gear set you can get, so if you need to replace the ring and pinion keep that in mind...

I found this place called "Midwest Transmission" that will send out aa fresh diff set up with OEM gears and Yukon or timken bearing/rebuild kit for $1260 shipped w/core exchange. I know ots a little stsep, but I might just do that for the simplicity of it...
