On fri night I did a few boosted launches on the road and I took the right side actuator coupler out (not sure what it's exactly called). We took the parts out of my other truck to get it going for the pulls on Sat. It worked great the first pull bit on the second time with a lighter sled the diff let go again in the same spot. I left my 4wd engaged and my elocker in so I know it was engaged properly. Maybe I put it back together wrong but I don't think so. Any hints on what I'm doing wrong. I was doing a boosted launch when it broke both times.

My dealer said to bring it in for warranty. So they just called and said it was the transfer case which they'll warranty. :D I thought for sure it was the coupler again. You guys go through many transfer cases?

I haven't gone through a transfer case, but I have gone through a front diff on my LMM, same thing the coupler part of it grenaded. I have a feeling that it might not have been fully engaged before the launch.

I have a feeling it was because it wasn't fully engaged also.
How much boost are you trying to build on the line? Are you still using first gear?

I'm still using the stock turbo so I just watch my pyro and I usually use a 2nd gear launch but I was trying a new trans tune and it was a first gear launch. My second gear launch has a nasty defuel on the 2-3 shift so I tried this tune. Which seems to defuell alot also. I guess I'll look for a trans tune.

Its not so much the trans tune i was getting at. Alot of guys watch their boost gauges on the line and stand on the brakes until either the cv's or something in the front end goes. Its always better to watch your pyro and leave off of heat and not boost. If you have heat the boost will follow.

Was it a rough track?

I only moved the sled 2ft when the transfer case went. I'm going to admit I think it was my mistake I held the brakes a little long. Thanks

Not if it helps, but thats why when i run at the track I always put it into 4hi in neutral, then put it in drive, stop, put it in reverse, stop, back in drive and roll up to the line. Let it roll like 3 feet in both directions.

Thats what I try to do. It doesn't work though on an icy hill, that never locks up in time to save you from the 4x4 post that is right behind you

I always try to give myself some rolling room to allow full engagement. But when your front end is welded and you have 1000lbs on the nose on 15.50" wide tires, making a 90* turn to get on the track and hooked to the sled is out of the question in 4wd:rofl:

Sorry I don't have the part number because my dealer did it under warranty. I took the transfer case out the next day and they did that under warranty also. I did just buy a spare diff and transfer case because the price of parts here is crazy.
