I'm doing front axle seals on a Chevy 1500 at work. Got the seals done no problem and suddenly realized I had a part in the pan and I have no idea where it came from. Can anyone on here help me out? Its cone shaped and about 1 3/4 inches across.

I believe that's where it goes, did you take the snap ring off before removing the axle? Or was it just pryed out? I don't have one laying here to double check but it seems like that's where it goes normally. It's supposed to be flat also. Usually they get coned shaped from prying the axle out without removing the snap ring.
That is exactly what happened, i ruined that washer and the washer with tabs.
I tried to update the thread yesterday with a picture but tapatalk wouldn't cooperate.
