hes lookin to tow a buggy but cant afford the 27K and up prices of a loaded LBZ and hes looking to buy a good used one.

now i realize i may be opening a BIG can of worms but what would be another good choice? years? motor code? anything would be helpful.

i know that not much more than the motor was changed throughout the years and after 2006 the LBZ was mated to a different (not sure what made it different) Allison transmission.

i couldn't really find a better place to put this thread; if there is a more appropriate area for this kind of question please point me to it.

thanks guys.

All depends on who you talk to. In the end I would try to find any year completely stock truck with all service records written down. The shape of the truck matters more than the miles IMO.

can he afford 25k? :D. its really up to personal preference. if hes mechanically inclined and doesnt mind changing some injectors every 80+ thousand miles then he could get a LB7 for cheap. the LLY is also a great motor without the injector issues and can be found for resonable prices. Is he wanting a newer truck and thats why hes lookin at LBZ?

hes not looking to buy brand new. something post 2006. IE post LBZ we found a 2001 EXT Cab Dmax with 174k on it. wants 10.5 for it.

I have a customer that just bought a 2011, and is selling this. It's mint condition, cleanest motor/interior in a d-max this old that i have seen. New CP3, New GM injectors, New stg 4 trans, DSP-5 ATP tunes, New Air Dog 155, New tripple pod and ultra lite II gauges, New FTS shocks (6), new dual hoops, air bags, 5th wheel in bed, transfer tank, FTS lift ect. sweet ride, and very fun to drive. 68K orig miles on the od. He wants 20K, but im sure he will take 17-18K
