started off with 160 and got about 90% of the casting 'pitting' off (tight areas were just not worth the effort since i'm never going to see them again lol) then went over all those areas with 220 - 600 - 1000 - 2000 then polished them off with a couple different drill buffers.

the rest of the crew is sleeping so i'll finish them tomorrow. for now i've got some bambi stew simmering in the kitchen and surfing the movie channels :D

 Its going to look like a BBC! I love it! That polishing job had to take forever. Nice work.

Hey, to clean up the motor, you could always get with Simon and Trent and do one of those simple fuel systems they came up with. You could always clean up the wiring the way Trent did it, too. Just some ideas.

X2 :D ,the first motor i did ( tow rig ) , the short block was immaculate ,and upper half was left alone ,long story short you can not see a single thing i pain ted or detailed :( , the second one ( race motor ) I left the short block alone ,jsut cleaned it ,and detailed the Sh$t out of the top half and it was def the way to go .

The valve covers look great :) I would find a way to seal them though or they will dull up quick with the aluminum being porous , that the main reason I powder coated ,its is the toughest longest lasting option , and cleans up real easy .

got a high temp clear coat. they will just get a couple very light coats after they get their final buff :) trent how the heck did you clean up your engine bay so well!!! i was looking at the pics in your build thread and it just looks amazing! no a/c, you loomed the harness eliminating stuff you didn't need. what else?

I know you already know this, but make sure you get all of the polish, rubbing compound, etc off. Even with 1000 grit paper you can spray clear on it and it will out shine the best of polishes.

Those look bad ass! Thats what I plan on doing!
