Dassault is most commonly known for their Catia and Solidworks products.

This is a free Windows 2D CAD product.

I have not used it, but Dassault/Catia/Solidworks are major players in the CAD field, so it should be a good product.

Another free one that I use at home is the student edition of Autocad 2011. They recently updated it so most Autodesk programs can be downloaded as a student version with a key that's good for 3 years. It is full featured too, which is nice...The only difference between the student and other versions is a border around prints that says the drawing was created with an Autodesk student edition. I never liked autocad for 3d but the 2d works well.

yeah 3d on autocad isnt great...I also have a student edition or 2011 and a few previous versions my teacher let me have a copy of...I really want solid works

I loved 2007 autocad, I havent used it in for ever (probably late 2008-2009) but this looks alook like it. Good find and awesome free version!
