glow plug controller. ficm is front passenger side engine.

eta you remove the gpcm with a couple 10mm bolts, and the bracket is pia. 10mm bolts under side of the metal. i cut a notch in either side of the bracket so it would bend and bent it up to access the bolts. not fun. but the 18mm bolt is worse yet as it is tight as hell.

That black box is the Glow Plug Control Module. There are two 10mm bolts holding it to the bracket underneat and two 12mm bolts (head size) that hold the bracket to the head. The 12mm bolts are a PITA to get to and a racheting wrench is your best bet - of course they are way longer than they need to be too.

Yea if anyone wants to make some cash id pay to have someone remove the FPRV from my fuel rail. The good news is I have relocated the GPCM.

I had to hold one hand on the box end of the wrench, and use theother arm to work the wrench.

No room for a cheater, but if i would have cut the wrench in half i could have put a cheater over it.

This mod sucks to perform!!!

I put can usually get it with the closed end of a wrench on the FPRV then using a second wrench as a cheater (put the open end of the 18MM wrench into the closed end of another wrench). Just gotta be careful to hold the wrench straight and a 6 point closed in is best if it is stubborn.

it is VERY simple.

pull the coolant inlet tube
disconnect the bales
remove the bale bracket
there is a hidden bolt for the coolant tube under the bracket
BOOM you are at the rail...
a few bolts hold down the rail
take a 17mm open ended wrench to loosen the fuel lines then repeat in reverse order really simple and very straight forward

I have done a few and the best way was cut the damn bracket from the module and relocate to the stud on the firewall. then get a good 3/8 impact with a shallow socket on there. my blue point was the perfect size to slip back there, then just imapct it loose. I stripped one doing it by hand and had to pull the rail, which isn't that hard.
