(FPR) question???

hey guys i have a question about my fuel pressure regulator sometime my truck has a loppy idle and sometime you can see it on the tach and some time you cant. it only does it every now and again (every couple days) it doesnt show cel and when sitting at a stop light you can see it hayzing a good amount of light colored smoke in the headlights behinde you and the longer you sit idleing the more it smoke does that all the time. just wondering if that might be the (FPR)??????? any advice?? thanks

i took my tunes off acouple weeks ago to take my truck to the dealer thought the smoke might be injectors and im almost at 200,000 so had it checked out. everything was ok. but when i got it back is when it started doing it (loppy idle) and it was stock .put tunes back on hopeing to fix it but it didnt. the dealer said the smoke might be a sticking injector

Mines is 100% stock (tunning) and it hazes' at an idle, sometimes. It doesn't do it all the time either. No codes or CEL. I talked to a guy that I trust and told me it was because I removed the CAT and now that little bit of smoke comes out the pipe instead of the CAT catching it.

When it is loping at idle what is your rail pressure actual and rail pressure commanded? That will tell us alot. If the rail pressure is up over commanded then you FPR is the issue. If your pressure is good it could be your injectors.

yeah its at idle. i had it checked for injectors at 182,000 still has original set in it. when i took it to the dealer for the smoke thinking it was injectors they said balace rates checked out fine but one might be sticking but some smoke is from not having a cat. on it.as far as actual and command im not sure. I called my tuning guy to have him look at it with EFI live but never got back w/ me. i was gona relpace the fpr and thinking about upgrading the cp3 and doing a filterless ppe150 gal. pusher. are the any good performance FPR and cp3.what does the shim kit do for the fpr ? thanks.
