I know this is primarily a Duramax forum but some of you guys here also have experience with the Ford diesels.
I don't know what year vehicle yet. Or any codes present. Still haven't seen the vehicle in person. I have a cousin with a Ford F250 that apparently is not regenerating the DPF and is sitting at 120% soot load and warnings to get it serviced.
I know with the Duramax, they are picky about EGT, NOX and oxygen sensors being out of range and inhibiting regens. And sometimes they don't throw codes that point you to the right sensor.
What are the common issues for the Ford emissions system that would prevent the DPF regen? Just trying to get ready before I go look at it.
I ordered a V-gate vLinker FS USB OBD2 Adapter to be able to use the Forscan software and hopefully see what's going on. Apparently on hos way back from a hunting trip, the warning came up. He stopped at a shop and they ran a manual regen. He was able to drive it home no problem. But the issue has returned. So, it looks like there is something going on preventing it from running a regen. I can probably run another manual regen to keep him going for now but I would like to see if we can figure out why it's not doing ot on it own.
Anyone with familiarity willing to hold my hand?
