Dammit, I'm always too late for the jackpot! I wish I had a better picture, but this is the best I could find. I took a 1" thick steel plate 2'x2' and welded a shaft on the bottom side to fit into my floor jack. Then I just used wratchet straps over the top of the tranny for stability.....works pretty damn good if all you're using is jackstands. If you were working under a lift you would never get high enough!

Like I said, wish I had a better picture, but you can kind of see it under the truck and through all my mess..........

That's a good idea! I use my motorcycle/atv jack and it works very well.

I'm excited that you have used a motorcycle/atv jack with good results. That is what I was planning on using when I do my build. How high did you have to jack the truck up to be able to get the tranny out?

1st off the atv jack didn't go high enough, so I stacked up (2) 2"X4" on it.
Once the atv jack was all the way down, I took out the wood once side at a time.
Then I had to use a 6"X6" on the floor jack to lift the front of the truck up as high as I could. The rear was already on jack stands.
The last step was when pulling the tranny out the side, the bellhousing is too tall, so I just lift the back of the tranny by hand so the front of the tranny drops down just enough to squeak under the torsion bar.

A good idea would be to put the stock tranny pan on if your running a deep aftermarket pan.

Floor jacks do not go straight up and down and it can get tricky lowering or raising the trans if you don't have some help.
