I have suspicion that my flexplate is cracked. Next Monday I will know.

Is it worth going with a billet like ATS or Banks?

If so who else supplies a lightened, strengthened plate?

thanks

Word on the street is unless you run an ATS TC (which you do), there is no reason to run a billet as they have caused more problems then they have fixed in the past when used with an SC TC.

From what I understand, the stocker seems to work fine in most applications.

The Banks is pricey. ATS is fair priced. I wasnt sure who else made them. Havent priced one from the dealer. I figured I would replace the flexplate and install a dampner. Assuming this is whats broken.

We have both the ATS and used take offs if for which ever way you decide to go. If you do go with the ATS you need to use different bolts then supplied we have them both in stock as well. If going to go with a dampner I highly recomend the ATI or the ones that Socal sells.

what the difference with using a SC TC and an ATS TC with their billet flexplate? i dont see how it should make a difference.

Thread size is different between the SC and ATS converters. The ATS flywheel is thicker which will require longer bolts so you will have to find the correct size bolt if you use the ATS flywheel with SC converter.

Mike I just bought a ATS flywheel off the DP market place. I have a SC converter that I was planning on bolting up to it. Is there a bolt that is available to buy from you, or do you have to try and find the right one?

Will the SC bolts work, or do they not thread in as far?

SC bolts are too short. You will have to do some carefull measuring.

Mike,

OT Kinda- Did BANKS ever send you a flexplate to scope out and test?

Was it worth it/better? Or simply nice craftsmanship?

Nanks found a small glitch in their flex plate and are addressing it. Jeff told me I will get it when problem solved. I am looking forward to getting it. I firmly believe we need some flex there.
