Allison 5sp: Fleece alli locker/ tap shifter 01-02 vs 03-05

I can't tell that there is a difference, does anyone know? Just want to confirm that the same tapshifter is used for 01-05 like the website used to show

the shifter is the same, but the 01-02 has an extra wire that goes into one of the tcm connectors. The 03-05 is just plug and play.

Thanks, so it is the same shifter, you just have an extra wire unused in the 03-05?

01-02 uses a hard wired connection directly to the TCM to disable 5th gear and give you 4th where the 03-05 trucks do it via class 2 data bus by holding the tow/haul button in.

So I bought the 03-05 tapshifter and locker. It has the tcm wire and will work on an 01? From what I can tell yes, looking for confirmation.

no two different part numbers, the ones for 03-05 dont have the exta wire.

So i bought a tapshifter/allilocker that was on an lly, says 01-05 on the module, is this useless on my truck? Or can I make it work? I didnt realize there are differences between 01-02's and 03-05's.

I would say call FLEECE, but I remember how much trouble that was whenever I tried getting ahold of him.

That's what I was thinking haha. I will try though. I can't see the two units being significantly different.
