I have a buddy who just bought an LBZ that already had EFILive. He is not happy and wants new tuning as I have a V2.

Can new tunes be made and flashed over his current tuning without having the original tuner flash it back to stock?

If the ECM is locked then no... if the current tune is restricted as in you can't view it or modify it then yes you can flash over it

Your os's may not match. Sure bet is have the dealer reflash it, then you are starting with a known working clean slate.

Any LBZ ECM or LMM or LML can be flashed over, they are only blocked from a read if the patch is applied on an LBZ or LMM, LML are blocked by the factory.

But unlike the LB7 and LLY that are locked with a custom key , the LBZ/LMM ecm can be flashed even if the the Boot Read Patch is applied or its a DSP5.

Get me the VIN# and I can supply the TIS tune for a small fee
