I got my lift pump hooked up, but it got me thinking, when flashing a tune, it's going to be running the whole time. Good? bad? Should I put a switch on it?

it will just recirculate back into the fuel tank... If you are concerned just pull the relay and your problem is solved. Just plug it back in after the flash is done:D

The least amount of drain on the batteries while tuning the less chance of any down or uploading problems. Control your FP relay with a switch, it will help in other situations too. My .02 .

X2, I put a toggle switch for my lift pump along with the relay. Just peace of mind that there's less of a chance for something bad to happen. I know some people leave the pump running while reading/flashing with no problems though.

FWIW I came in fifth instead of second or third in the diesel power challenge because i put my lift pump on a toggle. Turned it off while tuning before the sled pull and didn't turn it back on. Ever since it just runs when the key is on.

My KD runs all the time but it doesn't draw much power. It would be better if it didn't run while you flashed but if your batteries are in good shape you should be ok for the minute or whatever it takes to flash.

Hmmm...

The only time I would turn it off is flashing a tune, I might just wire a switch up. Never can have to many switches....

Been there done that...eh Kat...Longest sled pull ever, in time, not feet:booboo: There was trouble loading the tune, and I unplugged the pump under the truck to help the process, which it did but, forgot to dive back under the truck and plug it back in, Still didnt finish last.
