First off i am want to say this site is awesome and has helped me the past year i have been a part of it. Any tips other than leave on the last yellow?

So i am going to the track tomorrow night for the first time ever. I have never been on a strip in anything and i am hoping that it doesn't rain! They are running grudge matches tomorrow so i am gonna try and win some money off of some of these cars. I have removed tailgate, spare tire, tire winch, rear bumper, back seat, step bars, and system. So now all i gotta do is take off my brush guard, lower my tbars, are lower the pressure in my tires. I have a few questions first though. First off i have no boost gauge so roughly what is a good rpm to launch at. I know boosts is different one truck to another. I am running clamps, cognito tie rods, and cognito braces. Also should i run in tow haul? Is a new tcm tune going to help my times any? What is a good PSI to have in the front tires and rear tires? 285/70R17. I am hearing 35 for the front and 40 for the rear the most frequently. And what does everyone think i should expect my first time out for an 1/8 mile track time? Mid 8's?

Thanks JOn

I'd start out around 2000rpm then go up or down from there:thumb:

Start at 1800 rpm and go up from there. Depends what the track will hold:thumb: Some trucks like tow haul and some don't.

Thanks... What is the average 1/8th mile time for a built tranny efi tuned truck? I always look at 1/4 mile times but the nearest 1/4 mile track is about 2 1/2 hours from me so an 1/8th mile will have to work. Also i am at sea level.

do you still run 37" tires? on normal 31" to 33" tires and 6700-6800lbs i would say 8.2 or so @ 82-84mph.... maybe quicker/faster and maybe slower
