First duramax

Hello fellow Duramax enthusiasts! I recently bought an 07 cab & chassis for 4k(was in rough condition but it’s coming together) and I’m wanting to do it right.
Truck had been deleted with the sinister kit(which I’ve now found that sinister isn’t very good so nice). I had a 95 12 valve Cummins before this so I’m new to a truck that can be tuned and the whole v8 thing. Truck is completely stock besides the sinister egr delete. Is there any default mods I should do to the truck? Want to build this truck right.

First, Welcome!


Second, The truck must have some type of tuning to allow the Sinister delete kit to function without throwing codes.


Third, there are all sorts of threads on supporting mods, all depending on your use and HP goals for the truck - make good use of the search engine. What I tell everyone is get a lift pump, and perhaps some additional filtration in front of the stock filter in the engine compartment. Kennedy make some really good pumps which are quiet. Size the pump to your HP goals.
