Just serviced my trans for the first time. There was some debris in the pan; not alot but they were there..and small. Trans had 15k miles or so. The pan filters housing had a dark substance on it. Just making sure this is "normal" for the break in? Kind of has me a bit worried.

Alto clutches btw..

Grime is normal, dependant on the amount. Probably from the carbon c1's. How much material in the pan, got any pics? Some people's "not a lot" is bad.

Pan should be clean along with the filter. Could be old stuff that was not flushed properly. I've seen it take a year and a half to dislodge from the cooler and heat exchanger.

I wish I would have taken a photo..it wasnt such a large amount to really be a worry.. I had to have my torque converter freshened up because the clutch material was flaking away so maybe there are still some old debris from that. Should a guy maybe start changing the spin in every couple of weeks, cut open and inspect until no more debris? I was expecting my fluid to look brand new, but it did have a little color to it. It was definitely time to swap it out. The pan itself was clean, except for the small 20 or so pieces of small debris in the one corner. I had only changed the spin on once since rebuilding it.
