I'm finally gonna fire this thing. My question is, do you guys turn the motor over with the ficm unplugged to fill the rails without firing the injectors or just go for it? Any other things to consider here? I did build an engine oil preluber so that is taken care of. Thanks

The injectors wont attempt to fire unless you have rail pressure. crank for 15 sec intervals to push air out. If your luck is better than mine, it should take a half dozen tries.

What did you use to build your preluber? I have a small air compressor tank here I was going to use to build one.

I never done that and mine has fired:) It takes a bit

If you pull one of the plugs on the oil galley and adapt a hose to it you could simply use a plastic jug and a air compressor

really quite simple:)

I used a binks quart cup for a paint gun. I drilled and tapped the pressurization port to plumb a qd for an air line. Then I got a barb fitting to fit where the gun would normally hook up and ran a hose to another barb fitting that adapted to a 14mm male fitting for the oil sending unit hole. Hope this makes sence. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

To be honest with all the ASSembly lube you got in there plus the fact you are going to crank it over probably a million times before it fires, I don't know if it's really neccessary to pre-lube unless the engine has been sitting assembled for a week or more. I guarantee you will see oil pressure before you get enough fuel pressure to fire it.

But that said, prelubing it can't hurt anything. It's up to you really:D

If it was assembled with "lube" or Moly grease i wouldnt worry too much about it , if it was assembled with "oil" then i would pre-lube it , I just plan to start it up , like Dale said by the time the fuel system is primed usually the oil system is too .

Good point. I Didn't think about it that way. I had most of those parts laying around and I was bored. Probably could use it to flush a block on a new build too.

I just turned my key on let the fass run about 2 min and just sprayed a little starting fluid on my air filter and it fired right up this was after installing the cut injectors and new turbo
