I finally was able to my Dmax at the track. Now since this is my DD and parts are not cheap I started out no boost launch and roll in to it a bit well seeing a 16.111 pissed me off. So **** that put in 4 wheel and bring her to 15 psi was good till the 1-2 shift and it bogs down had to let off and get back on it get it going but still ran a 14.504. Played with a few things and made the next pass at 14.449 still boging but not as bad. Last pass was my best R/T of .233 but boged real bad and ran a 14.515.

Sad thing was I was one of the fastest DD diesel trucks there was not that there was a lot of us maybe 10 or so Diesels there and 3-4 were not SL with all slicks and 2 bottles of NOS. No real good ones. We need more D-maxs there the Dogdes had all top 3 over all from what I saw one with a 11.337.

So where are you guys I know lots of you are near Castrol Raceway.

Also I need to get a EGR Blocker lol stupid thing keep popping and maybe some W/M as the EGT were a bit high as they set P0546 and P2033 lol

My first trip to the track I ran a 15.7 stock, next time a month later I ran a 14.3 with an ally jr and tuning. Give it time-faster passes will come.:D

I may have a blocker plate I can give you soon. You should throw an ally jr. in that trans ASAP as it will help your shifting and maybe help you hold a little more power. Also anything you can do to help it breathe will definetly drop egt's as well. Pull the P/S headlight, remove the heater grid from the intake, block that egr off, and get a downpipe. Those things alone should drop your egt's a couple hundred degrees.

Oh yeah and a lift pump, FPRV shim kit, and a set of tie rod sleeves or replace the stockers with Cognito's HD tie rods will help keep your front end together on boosted launches in 4wd.

I know, like you said parts are expensive but you will totally get out of it what you put into as far as the fun factor goes-unlike the shiney things for your truck that you can waste money on!:D

who does your tuning if i may ask?
sounds like GM sorry excuse of traction control is kicking in and bogging you out..i got so sick of our LBZ doing that!
i would def see about doing lift pump, shim kit,Transgo JR and adjusting PSI in the tires!

Well I was saving for a Mike L trans and hoping to drive to him in the spring as work is slow right now so I need to save. If you have a LMM blocker plate that would be sweet but I may be looking at getting rid of all the EGR crap. Yes downpipe is on my list of things I need ASAP. Just looked at my air filter today and yep that thing was packed with crap might be time for a S&B too. Your from AB how well does the truck start in -45 C with out the intake heater?

Ya I had a shim kit on order but never came in so time to get one from one of the vendors on here. Will be making some sleeves at work as I dont want to get the Cognito's HD till I do a lift down the road. I might make a center link too if I can find some good stock SS at work kicking around.

Bogging? From spinning then catching traction?? Maybe try launchin in 2nd?

Not spinning as I was in 4x4 but the traction control or torque management crap kicking in.

As I have not done much tuning for the track I ran a Race tune from Nick P. Lift pump is going in as soon as I finish setting up the new fuel tank and pickup I know bigger tank will slow me down but I need it for the long trips I make. Had the Tires in the rear ay 40 PSI but 50 in the front as they are still the stock ones but about 10% tire tread in the rear lol.

I saw your truck run yesterday. Looked pretty good, I didn't run mine.

Well next time wonder over to me and say hi so I know who you are lol.

PS: Why did you not run yours? I was put up next to a 90% stock 06 LLY he had a DOC delete and CAI that was it he ran a 17.178 and he was a 2wd.

Next time I will have to wonder over and say hi. I checked your garage this morning and saw that it was you. I have some parts kicking around that I want to put on the truck before I go to the track, I'm a little nervous about it actually. But every time I go it make me want to race more and more, so it's gonna happen. :)

I will let you know about the heater-I am going to get a delete kit from MMLMM if he ever gets them in. I like my S&B and I think it works well on our trucks. As far as shim kits, I just put a couple of washers in mine and it works fine. They are like 10mm or something IIRC. That torque management crap can be tuned out. I had the same issues with my LBZ-my face would almost hit the steering wheel on shifts!!

Dan, you need to get that truck on the track!!:D

Nope, thanks to a mexi-californian, it shifts reasonably good for a beat up trans with a junkstar converter!:D

The washers are 4mm , 2 required. I dont reccomend messing with shimming the FPRV untill necessary ( throwing 0087 codes). Was a real pain in the ass to get seated.

When you get a trans built, up your tune, then you'll need a Shimmed FPRV.

Wendy must be special  I don't run a shims or race valve

with the tires you have you can safely drop as low as 35PSI in the rears and 45PSI up front,i have done it quite a number of times and it does hook up better for me but i have never ran on a track just a local road strip that i so happen to have the record on and well i have to run it atleast once a week to make sure i am still the fastest in that stretch!:D its a lil over an 1/8 and so far if i squeeze everything i have i get roughly 98-99MPH in that distance and the closest car to me is a 06 GTO with a 6.0L running 90MPH!
if i run normal PSI i drop down several MPH due to traction and not hooking up properly but if i keep low PSI and with the 1057TC that i have i normaly let her rip with 15PSI and 2200-2300RPM's! that is with my RC LLY
i never figured out how to tune that TQR managment bs so i had Rob Coddens do that for me!
