I finally passed the DMV inspection here in Switzerland and received my plates and registration for my truck.
It was a long ass process, aggravation, frustrations, headache and it cost me alot of $$ for all the paperwork…
It is ridiculous how many laws they have about cars and trucks over here. I had to change some things on my truck and cheat a little here and there.
I had to go to a DMV partner place first to get my rims approved cuz they exceeded the stock track width by more than 2%. They also put my truck on a dyno to make sure the engine has not more than 20% hp over stock. Rob sent me a great tune to tame my twins. ;)
Only those 2 documents for the hp confirmation and the rims where over $1000 by itself!!
My truck couldnt fit on regular dyno so they decided to put it on a hevy line truck dyno. Every dyno run was a torture to my truck it wasnt like on a regular dyno where you rev it up once or twice under load. No, I had to floor it for almost 4 minutes while they put constant load on it. I could watch the coolant temp going up almost to the redline, I was just about to let off. But she held up strong.

The suspension lift couldnt be higher than 2“. I had to turn my 4“ all the way down, put some drop shackles in and alter a few numbers to sneak trough.
The catalytic converter had to go back in.

Orange park lights had to be white.

I had to put on a safety bar because my rear bumber was to high. The tires had to be covered and so on….

The truck was also to heavy, the max. weight for the passenger cars/ light trucks is 7700lbs, my truck was 7275lbs with just the driver. The gas/diesel tank has to be full when they put it on the scale, mine was emty and showed full thanks to EFI live, but it was still to heavy. So they told me I have to remove 2 seats to register it as a 3 seater, with 5 seats I would have overweight.

Luckily the truck was considered as personal property @ the import, so they gave me a relief from the emission test cycle for imported cars, that would have been another 4 grand and not easy to pass.

I hate how I had to ruin my baby, but im glad the inspecton is done.
Sorry for my long speech I just had to vent somewhere…

thanks, yes im glad I made it :), they are really strict over here, you have to go back to the DMV inspection every 2 years. Every single modification is listed on your registration card, so if you get pulled over its easy for the cops to check if everything matches. Its risky to change anything back, but of corse I had to change a few things back right after the inspection ;) Got my regular dsp tunes back in, catalytic converter is gone again and the lift is 1" higher....
I might put the seats back in, but the 2 extra passengers woudnt be covered from the insurance, in case something would happen to them.

I don't why you had to move, but I sure its hope its worth it. I would have told them to shove it, and been on a plane back to the states in a heartbeat!

You did a nice job making it pass without making the truck look to bad though.:thumb:

And I thought a visual inspection in Calif was a waste of time and money. I guess I'm getting off cheap costing $45.00 every two years for an inspection.

Why are you there?? Regardless truck looks awesome!!

Thanks for the compliment. Im Swiss, I was working in the US for almost 2 years. But then I had to move back to Switzerland because my Visa was up, and I couldnt extend it or get another one. I wish it would be easier to get a work permit and a Visa to come back to the US, but im working on it...
