Nothing extremely exciting, but still fun to have fresh parts on the way. I have really beat on the truck around some job sites over the last couple years. Parts are getting pretty tired and definitely showing it.

Ordered New wheel hubs, MOOG Pitman and Idler arms, new axles, swap bar end links, and Rare Parts tierods.

Nothing performance related but wanted to share. Hope everyone is having a good week!

I was just quoted $850 for labor for these parts from the dealership... How much of this can be knocked out by a newb driveway mechanic?

Parts have arrived... I still can't believe the difference in the Tie Rods. What an improvement!

I'd say you could do all of it if you have the tools. A pickle fork will help a lot with getting things apart. And a pitman arm removal tool is pretty much a must. But you could probably rent one. Just try to get everything pretty close to what it was for when you drive it to the alignment shop.

I appreciate it! I think I'm going for it on my own. Use all that labor money on a nice jack, stands, and a couple basic tools. Are the tq specs for the bolts a concern for these parts?

I've never tourqed a tie rod thats going Into steel. Just used an impact. I'd say 70 ft. Lbs would be a good start then go tighter until the cotter pin will fit. Never loosen one up to get it to fit. The 2 halves of the idler can be a pain to get tight if you don't have a good air source but iirc you can use a wrench and an Allen wrench in the center to get it tight.

Saving your labor money and buying tools will always help you down the road. But then again if everyone did that I'd be out of a job!!
