Went to the last diesel truck shoot out race in Rogersville, Mo. yesterday. Worst track conditions we have seen all year. First launch yielded a 1.77 60' time (my personal best) but the track had been washed down with 8" of rain and was quickly covered in dirt/dust (the VHT they did put on the starting line just trapped it there). Nearly every pass I was going down the track sideways and letting off early. Thankfully all the rest of the trucks were having similar tractions problems. I took what the track would hold (went down from a 2800us tune to a 2200us tune to put together two 11.50 passes in the semis and final).
It was a great day. Got to meet some new friends and see some old friends. Big thanks to Reece & Jamie for helping me get burnouts/staging (the groove was literally covered with a glaze of dirt/sand).
Thanks to Mr Bodine for a rock solid trans every time out, Josh/Larry for all the chassis mods, Rick for all the tig welded goodies, and Nick for all the tuning help.
We have one race remaining next weekend. Should have a great racing surface so I can throw everything at it (and I am going to need all I can get and more). I got around some tough 4wd trucks (the semi final round was a gift but I will take it). Both of those trucks will be running there as it is everyone's home track. The cummins has the track record so it will give us all a little extra motivation.
