Well I was finally able to order a SCIV kit with a 1056 the other day so i decided to get a head start and get the trans tore apart. It came out easier than i thought it would. I've read a few posts about the converter bolts being a pain to get out but i used a Matco 17" fine tooth locking flex head 1/2 inch drive ratchet with a three inch extension and a shallow socket and they came out without a problem. The part # is CFR17LFTMA if anybody wants to know. Its kinda pricey but it saves me alot of time almost everyday at work and a few times at home. I started a thread on here a while back on here when my tranny went out and people were guessing on what was wrong with it and so far the C3 clutches are burned and im thinking the converter is shot. I haven't taken apart the C1/C2 yet and the C5 look okay so im not going to worry about those since they only have 18000 miles on them. I also found the left rear parking brake locked up when i pushed it into the garage. Im thinking this may have helped finish the trans off cuz i could feel something dragging the morning it went but i figured it was the brakes on the trailer i was pulling and i was in a hurry to get home so i just kept going.

Heres some pics of my fried clutches. The C1's are pretty bad and the friction material was starting to flake off. The truck has been back together for almost a week and everything works perfect. The kit was worth every penny.

Looks like Raybestos green clutches. Who worked on it before?

I don't know the shop name. It was a tranny shop in Fond Du Lac, WI. The dealership i bought the truck from had it re-built before i picked it up because when they went to fix a leak i found while looking at the truck they found material in the fluid. They probably told me where it was done but i can't remember.
