and i break the yoke on the trans:mad:. yup, i got convinced to go to the track last night and on the very first run after being there for only 15min, i break the yoke on the launch. i had a good burnout, spooled the truck to about 8psi and 5' off the line BOOM.

this was the first time i've had the truck to the track w/ normal tires and the bed on. i was hoping to be in the mid 13s considering my buddy ran a 13.9 and i beat him by a truck. and what's a thread w/o pics.

also i need a new one ASAP, anyone have one laying around???

welp pulled the bed off last night and found out why the yoke broke... time to build it better i guess. gonna run some 3/8" thick tubing this time, then run a gusset to the frame.

Based on all the rust, it looks like that pipe may have been cracked for a while.

Might be a good idea to cap the end of the pipe to strengthen it.

no matter what breaks on your truck nothing can take away the countless hours of fab time and the "cool factor" of all the craftsmanship that is under that bed.

almost there...just need to add gussets and paint it all up. damn does it suck to weld upside down in tight spaces. this tube is 3/8" thick too and the brackets are 1/4"

oh and my dumbass forgot that i unhooked the AD return line so can you guess what happened when i turned the key on to put it in neutral.. yup lost about 2gal on the ground:rofl:
