More dept's need to start doing this, although I wish the ticket came with points and a higher fine. IMO, losing $$ usually makes people wake up.

Ive seen people driving on the freeway reading a newspaper and typing on a computer.
Once saw one lady with a cig in one hand and phone in the other, driving 50mph on a 4 lane road. Must've been her third arm holding the wheel.

One area of Michigan that will pull you over for anything. Troy police will pull their own grandmothers over and give them tickets for 2 mph over.

Funny this was brought up. Made a trip to Utah today and passed a guy reading a magazine while driving. It's definitely getting out of hand.

This last summer I was driving south on US 61 near LaGrange MO and saw a man eating a Subway sandwich with both hands while riding his motorcycle. I've never seen anything like it. Unreal!

I'm glad the law has the requirement that your driving be bad first. I drive with no hands all the time. I steer with my knee. Of course, I don't do it in cities or in traffic. I've been doing that for 5+ years now, and no one outside my truck has ever noticed. Mostly because if there is other traffic, I use my hands, and partially because I can steer with my knee just as well as with my hand.

Now if I was swerving or driving erratically while not touching the wheel, by all means, give me a ticket. But there are a few of us who can pull it off safely. Of course, I'm not reading or anything; I'm still paying 100% attention to the road.

On edit:

I have been known to use one hand on a cell phone while riding my dirt bike, but usually when I am off road and I get a message. Using 2 hands to eat while on a bike is impressive. Honestly, I don't care what anyone on a motorcycle does, since they are really only going to kill themselves. For that reason, I do much stupider things on my bike than in my truck, since the truck will kill anything I hit; when on the bike, only I die. I don't mind taking my own life into my hands, but I do everything I can to avoid risking other people's lives.

Lol, next time I am on a road trip I'll try and remember to get a pic for you. Basically, just run your seat all the way back, and tilt the wheel down a couple notches, and your set! There is some limitation to how quickly and how sharp I can turn with my knee, but I never have a problem on the highway/country roads.

TX of course
I drive with my knee use to do it a lot and can drive pretty well with it. But I would never drive my semi loaded to over 150K lbs and 12' wide with my knee in heavy traffic to eat because that was the only "break" I would get all day....
