Allison 5sp: Filter Lock?

I will be getting my Mag-Hytec Trans pan any day now. Do I need to get a filter lock to go on the filter?

If it is a deep pan...yes. Small price to pay for insuring that you don't end up starving the trans for fluid.

Especialy because of the chinese filter supplied with that pan. I would chuck the filter for an American made one. Suction would be better.

When I put the pan on should I do it with warm fluid or is first thing in the morning before starting it up ok?

It's cheap insurance and will help you sleep while driving, I mean, at night.

Doesen't matter. Personally I would let it sit over night no matter what it will drip. I would get the filter lock for cheap insurance
