I started my Duramax yesterday started up fine and then it was as loud whining noise it was coming from the ficm on my manifold I turn the truck off I had to disconnect the both batteries so that whining sound slowly came to a stop I reconnected both batteries I got all power but it doesn't even click when I turn the key

So I put a new ficm in today didn't find any frayed wires in the harness above the manifold put it all back together turn the key not even a click . Could my starter relays be burnt out this is an 03 Duramax lb7

Im sure you checked all your fuses , I think the reason your not getting much response is because the time it took for you to realize where the buzzing burning electrical noise , open the hood , get tools , disconnect both batteries , its just so hard to tell what else might have been damaged ! I would say rather than just throwing parts at it , find a reputable shop like the ones on this site , have it taken there to be properly diagnosed ! Someone might chime in though , but thats what I did before because I know very little !

I also know very little and I have decided to take it down to one of these shops and get it diagnosed. Someone suggested I might have burned out the starter relays.
