Hi all, I'm looking at the front clip from Fiberwerx and was wondering how the fit and finish is and if to install them if the outer fender has to be skinned off and then bolt everything on or what? Also, they say on the page that it will accommodate up to 39 inch tires. Is this with a lift or at the stock ride height? Thanks in advance for the information.

I've actually been thinking the same thing. James, how were your fenders to install? You have Fiberwerxs correct?

Thinking of doing 03-07 Chevy front end conversion with fiberwerxs fenders.

In all honesty, it's just going to go to a body shop for it, just wonder what expected time should be. I've heard they need quite abit of work to fit right.

mine are not fiberworks. they are Glassworks. there is no fiberglass fender out there that will fit on a chevy and look/fit like factory right out of the box. they need ALOT of love by you or the body shop to get clearances correct (adding and removing fiberglass). Glassworks was the better of them all as far as best fitting and holding up to abuse. they still needed lots of love and still arent perfect.

fiberwerxs glass is thin and over time you will get many spider cracks at the mouting points. they also dont line up for shit. if you look close at the pics on their site, you will see what i mean just around the lights.

you also will not fit 39s even if you remove the inner fenders all together. the tires will hit the firewall/rockers long before the inner fender. 37s will do the same. this all assuming you do not run a lift kit (level kit does not count as a lift). the specs they give are just what the fenders can clear with a LT kit that has already moved the spindle forward 2-3" (most kits do this to clear 37s without getting into the firewall).

So in my opinion. if you have the time and money, you can run it but dont expect it to last without lots of support. alot of these companys expect these fenders to be "throw aways" as most desert racers will loose body parts through a race from other trucks or immovable objects lol.

oh and removing the inner fender from the outer requires lots of drilling. i have a write up on DP from years ago when i put the fenders on my truck and wanted to keep the inner fender still. If you dont keep the inner fender, you will need to build a structure to support the core support or it will wobble all over the place.
