Few questions

Hello I'm Trey from Iowa. Just bought an 05 lly yesterday from local dealership. Have no intensions on using the truck other than pulling a few small trailers here and there. Mainly just to drive for fun. I asked the dealership what had all been done to the truck and all he said was it was mainly stock other than exhaust. Well I opened the hood and seen a k&n cold air intake. So I could tell right away the guy was just lookin to sell the truck. My question was, what are some things to check over to assure she's not gunna bust down anytime soon, and what do you all suggest I use for fluids?

Ditch the knn intake for something nicer. As for fluids, people will argue that for days. I personally don't see a point in synthetics unless the truck will be subjected to incredibly harsh conditions. Big things to check/watch are head gasket and transfer case pump rub. You can do a search on the site about those and read for days

What he said ^^^ you should be able to take it back to dealer and have them read the ECM to see if the previous owner did have it tuned.

Really clean truck, good decision.

Just a little bit of advice, hide your wallet. It all starts with "just an intake."
