Going to help a friend rebuild the front suspension, steering, etc on his Mercury Monterey this weekend. Struts are shot. One bad hub. Bad ball joint. And possible warped rotors.

Never even heard of a Mercury Monterey until he asks me for help on his. Apparently they weren't well liked and not many were sold. Eventually discontinued. So a bit rare. He just happens to be one of the few that purchased one.

Yeah, plates usually cost me upwards of $600 for our cars, too. I just wish all the money went towards the roads like its supposed to, not into the general fund and then "distributed" like our current system does.

They didn’t take off like they thought they would and OE parts were rather expensive

We can get 3 year tags on trailers in Nevada. My gooseneck 20k# flatbed is $300 and the 5th wheel is $1800 for the 3 years.

We are vehicle and insurance poor between my wife and I with our 3 kids lol. We currently have 15 vehicles tagged and insured cause I can't get rid of anything. Of those 6 are duramax's, 2 are TDI's. If I was smart I would thin the fleet out but I'm an idiot and my wife doesn't give me any shit about it cause you never know when you will need one of the backups.

Soaking wet out in the rain, but managed to replace the struts, rod ends, stabilizer links and rotors on my friends Monterey. Need to do the rear shocks now. Test drive. No more vibration when braking and steering feels much more tight. No more nose diving when braking hard

Looks just like the setup on the Regal. Funny how the suspension design is the same on most FWD cars nowadays, regardless of make.
