Following up to my thread in December found here:

My father and I decided after the event in December that we should take the Porsche to COTA for any DE event they may have. So after some research we found that the southern chapters of the BMW CCA hold an event that took place over Father's Day Weekend 2016. So we decided we needed to make the trip.
So last Thursday we loaded up and headed south, knowing it was going to be hot we prepared for the worst.
Along the way the famous stop (thanks to Sandog) was made at Buc-ee's to show my pops what a palace it is. Fortunately they had recently opened a new one at Fort Worth next to the Texas Motorplex. If you have never been it is worth the stop.
After the longest trip ever to Texas, due to the road construction we arrived about 10:45pm on Thursday evening. We had to be at the track at 6:00am Friday so it was a short rest to prepare for the weekend.
As always we arrived to the most beautiful sight in automotive architecture.
We had only been confirmed for Fridays event due to the nature of the requirements and bookings, but got lucky and had pit/garage space rented.
Met some great garage mates with some cool cars.
Swapped to the slicks.
Full view.
This was a BMW event, but the amount of kick ass cars went beyond. Tons of BMW, tons of Porsche, Corvettes, McLarens,

This GT3 played all day and at the days end Pepper Yandell came and did a photoshoot for HRE on the new wheel setup, the owner was a true enthusiast. He told me besides being really thirsty and eating brakes like crazy the car is a wonder.
Time to go.
My pops and I ended up being allowed to both run which made the weekend more special. He has seat time with a PCA instructor that got him signed off for the intermediate group event, so I could do the novice.
My grouping.
This girl was thirsty as well. 5 fill ups.
Last session of the day for my pops was well eventful. We were slip seating the car with not much down time(20-30 mins) between our sessions, in the 100+ degree air temps, and over 120 degree track temps. I came in and cooled the car as much as I could be he went out and lost the clutch. I do not leave home without my arsenal of tools. He brought the car in and I went to work, the engine oil temps were 275 degrees coolant temps in the 210 degree range so it was HOT. I figured out that the clutch fluid had boiled and needed bled. It was a trick, but I got it done and fresh Motul 600 in the line, bled the brakes as well and rotated the front tires. I also sat my last session out, but we were ready for Saturday.
This thing is a complete bitch to get to.
This is what came out.
We did end up being accepted to the Saturday sessions which was great since we were able to extend out trip but we did not have pit space. So Friday evening we made a trip to Walmart and grabbed a pop up. While my dad attended the morning meeting I got us all unpacked and setup.
Track rash.
Met a local from Austin area with a GT4 that ended up pitting with us, and he snapped a couple great pics of my pops and I. Check out my cool shirt. My pops decided on Tuesday before we left we should invest in the setup. I overnighted everything and installed it before we left Thursday morning. It saved us.
All in we put 303 track miles on the car in the 2 days.
Took a brand new set of Hoosiers with us but never bolted them on. These 2 year old dudes worked the entire event.
Loaded back up and ready to go.
What a great experience to share together, especially on Fathers Day.
I am working on some videos.
