Question: factory six disk

I have a 2004 non bose cd cassette and i want to install a factory 6 disk radio the one i have is out of a 2004 with Bose. will it work or is there some repogramming that needs done?

I believe the radio has to be programed to the truck but IMO its worth it to get it done i love mine hook up the xm at the same time
