Is there a special tool to disconnect the factory fuel lines where they come to the top of the motor on the drivers side? I pulled the metal clip off and I can see the 4 prongs that look like they need to be depressed to allow the hose end to come off but no matter what combination of screwdrivers and picks I use I cant get them all depressed @ the same time.... TIA -Jeff

yes, you need a fuel line disconnect tool that you buy from a autoparts place (they are plastic and come in a 4 piece kit)

take a pop bottle and remove the cap,Cut a hole in the center to fit the fuel line and push the cap in.Works like a charm and you now are a RECYCLER:D

you can also use a couple swredrivers

i had NAPA bring me a disconnect tool.... they said it would work on all GM from like 89 and up. I tried it and the largest end was just big enough to get the small line off. I had to make one for the big line, I took some metal plumbers tape and formed it around the handle of a screwdriver and then put it over the big line and the used a pair of pliers to slide it over and pop the line loose.

the only thing I have left to do is a couple more trans bolts, the converter bolts and the engine mounts. not too bad for a couple hours a night:D

also what size bolts should I use to attach the cherry picker chains? I would assume they need to be @ least grade 5, found the tab in the back of the motor on the pass. side and I think there is a good spot on the driver side up by where the second alternator would mount. Also, is it necessary to pull the hood off??

Probably pull the accessory bracket off and hook the chain where one of the bracket bolts go in. No need to pull the hood, but unbolt the springs. I used bailing string to pull the hood up tight to the windshield.
