I was looking at the equivalence calculator spreadsheet and I am a little confused? The pilot injection calculator appears to make sense but the pilt injection is in degrees yet in EFI it is in microseconds before main pulse? Hoe do we convert between the 2?
I am running 45% BTDC timing above 1600RPM and 45 mm3 with a max pulse width of 2700 and would like to reduce the pilot injection to compensate for the increase in timing.

Sorry on a 06 LBZ

Thanks

The sheet does not specify either so maybe, but i just can't seem to wrap my head around the calculations today for some reason.

I guess what i am asking is if we inject XXX microseconds before the main injection pulse you should be able to convert that to degrees so you could figure out what impact you had on the timing. For example if you advanced the timing say 10degrees and you inject the pilot 5 degrees ahead of that then is the pilot actually helping you or hurting you? in theory you could be injecting the pilot way to early and have a negative effect.

Pilot injection #2 if required comes in for example @ 4020microseconds before main and Pilot injection #1 comes in @ 1800 thats twice as early which would mean @ 20 degrees.

I realize it is only pilot injection but i don't think you have enough squish at that advance to bring the temperature up high enough to ignite so are you hearting it? are you helping it?

Thanks guys but for some reason i can't do math today, maybe the 2 kids running around and the wife wanting the hardwood floor down plus dinner cooked might have something to do with it?

that spreadsheat is for pilot timing tables, this spreadsheet is to keep you with sane timing numbers when you adjust you main injection timing.
