I just night an engine leveler. Pulled engine everytime from just horizontal bolts. The leveler has 4 chains on it Id guess for intake manifold bolts. Has anyone used a 4 chain to lift a complete longblock? I wouldn't worry but with our aluminum heads I figure I should ask!

Yeah me too. Jw if anyone's used a 4 chain. I'd prolly just use the horizontal bolts off the heads as a normal 2 chain with the leveler. Anyone have any do's or dont's about that with a leveler? Questions, comments, problems?

I use a leveler as well. It takes careful positioning of all of it for it to work good. The cowl always creates more of a issue than anything.

I used 4 chain leveler to pull and install my engine, one bolt on each end of the heads. I don't feel safe pulling 1100lb engine with 2 bolts at a 45* angle.

What's different about the zf6? I'm not familiar with them.

It has a clutch bolted to the flywheel and slid onto input shaft. Autos can just unbolt the tc and only the 2 dowels on the adapter plate need to be perfect to slide in/out. Zf will have to pull straight out then your free. Either that or drop the trans out first
