So, this time around for new tags I have to have the truck smog'd..

I forgot to bring my laptop along with me, and being that you get one free retest, I ran it with the normal daily driven HOT tune. Made 588hp+ on the dyno..

Passed with flying colors.:rofl:

How did they test it my brother said he had to rev up his truck while in neutral

Mine is registered in Yavapai County so I don't have to worry about it anyways

Thats good to know so if a guy put big injectors in with a stock tune I would think you could easily pass. :thumb:

It's just a "snap idle" test. Basically from idle to rev limit a few times. Supposed to be from idle to WFO to the limiter and hold for a second or so. Strange thing was they had me run it...

It probably only takes 10-15% throttle to make it hit the limiter in park. Sooooo I wasn't exactly going WFO.

Nope.


They made sure I had a fuel tank cap, measured exhaust size, and checked something under the hood. Not sure what he was looking for under the hood, was kinda in the area of the intake tube.

BTW..your avi doesn't quite work here..might wanna rotate the arrows.

one of these days when I'm bored I'm going to do an emissions test with and w/o h20/meth see what kind of a difference it makes. Unless someone has done it then I can stop thinkiong about it

My friend had a buick with a stage II motor and FAST XFI and we were having a heck of a time getting it to pass above 3000 rpm.....so I put a 2900 RPM rev limiter on it. They knew what we were doing but there is no law saying how high the motor needs to rev

had to have mine emissioned once in phoenix before i got it registered in flag. with my turn down tip under the truck the guy had to get under and hold the probe in the exhaust. Needless to say his white mask went to balck very quick :rofl:. Passed with flying colors and my buddy and i were laughin our asses off
