I am having some issues that i cant pinpoint the cause. I have relocated the battery on our 05. Also removed the entire HVAC system and any associated wiring, the bose module, the XM/ONstar module, etc. Made my own pos batt cable, my own power cable to the underhood fuse box, and reused the oem alternator cable. Reused the OEM negative battery cable and left the grounding spots the same. Reused the starter positive cable too. Transfer case and front diff are not in the truck currently, so they are not plugged in.

The issue is that once i connect the battery back up, everything is normal. Until i turn the key on. Random lights light up on the cluster. Check engine light stays lit after first ign cycle even after key is turned off. Battery light is on with key on. Also, the lift pump runs non stop with key off as well, but doesnt run until the first key cycle after hooking battery up. Taillights are on even when supposed to be out but parking lights light up just as bright as brake lights. Pwr windows dont work regardless of key position.

Any ideas??

I forget now but it shouldnt be hot when key off.

The truck will crank but i wont let it fire. No manifolds, no place for return fuel to go right now... etc

We also had the BCM out to pull dash. I was hoping someone had experience with this.

Sounds to me like obviously a hot wire is tied in somewhere its not supposed to be. How many times have you retraced your steps and gone over the wiring?

Update on this. All these conditions only occur in park. Not any other gear at all. As soon as it is in park, it acts as if the key is in the 'run' position. Even when the key is in the off or ACC position. Spent nearly an hour on the phone with Caleb, he was looking at wiring diagrams and i was in/under the truck. Looks like I left a ground off, the one that goes to the stud on the passenger-side body up by the a-pillar where it nears the windshield. His diagrams show it routes with the heater box over toward the driver's side somewhere. I dont have the wire in my pile of junk so that means its still attached to the heater box which i gave to our mechanic to keep for spare parts. Which means i wont be able to get it back until Monday. Hopefully this can cure the prob. We are not sure yet so any suggestions are appreciated.

Reran that ground, it came from one of the plugs in the passenger side junction block on the side of the dash. Fixed half the electrical problem. Still dont have power windows and the batt light and gear indicator stay illuminated even with key off & out.

Again, any ideas are appreciated! I guess this will be good info for someone in future if they search the similar problem.
