I let my pop use my truck a few weeks ago. I noticed that when the key is turned to the "run" position gauges, windows and lights don't work. If I start the truck, 3-5sec later everything works.. Nothing shows up when I scan it with my solus, and all fuses are good. Anybody else have an issue like this?

Ignition switch issue? Have you checked the ground connections on the frame under the drivers door?

Ground is good Tom, I figured he did something with the steering wheel cont., but that doesn't explain gauges not sweeping/functioning until running. Truck is fine other then this issue, it's just anoying if i want the window down while parked.

What's the RAP function?

power remains to stereo etc for 10min after turning truck off or until you open the door. That's the RAP function? Does that still function correctly?

Only other things I can think of besides grounds would be batteries discharging too far (so cluster and other modules arent "waking up" until voltage comes up), poor connection at a fuse (still shows as good when checked but not making good enough connection to work properly), broken wire in main harness or an ignition switch problem beginning to rear its head.

Ive always hated electrical problems. Hard to trace.

Yeah, auto electric sucks on new vehicles. Even the "tools" have an issue finding the problem sometimes. I did industrial electrical and controls for years, vehicle wiring is a nightmare compared the that.
