EGT's with twins??

I have an s475 over the stocker and the my egts seem high.
interstate driving 780 800 degrees at 85
at the track 1525 1550 degrees

Does anyone else see this with there twin set up or does this see high

Who's twins? What size housing on the 475? Who tuned it? Still stock CP3? Sounds high to me, but answering those questions may help figure out why they are.

700 - 800 driving 85 mph on the highway seems fine, is this flat ground or rolling terrain, driving less than 70 mph mine seems to run around 600* +/-

Your driving around egts are just a little higher than mine was with stock injectors but not out of line. All depends on tires size and terrain. Your 1550 is high though in my opinion. With stock injectors on my big tune mine would hit 1250-1300 @ around 115mph and this is with my 18's on the truck. Again depends on terrian too. How much boost are you running?

I had pyos on and 265s I am looking into the boostleaks rite now but the truck cleans up by 330foot
boost numbers were 48 - 50 psi
Rob has been a huge help just wanted to see what you guys thought

If the incorrect size pipes or a small turbine housing with no wastegate were used, it could cause high drive pressures and EGTs. Most manufacturers have the housing size cast into the housing somewhere. It doesn't sound like it is a tuning issue, and with stock CP3 and injectors, you shouldn't be overfueling them. I would also look for a boost leak like the others have suggested.

I'm with Josh, first thing I'd do after checking for boost leaks is install a Drive Pressure gauge. If it isn't fairly close to boost at WOT (say within 20 psi or so) the EGT's will go up and significantly. I'd bet that is your problem.

try opening your vane tables up a bit, as was suggested, a drive pressure gauge will be a big help, also monitering vane position will be a huge help, I have a scan gauge hooked up and constantly moniter vane position.

What type of gauge do I need to monitor the drive pressure. I have autometer cobalts in the truck. I would like to match it if possible. Im kicking myself for not getting a scanguage first.

I read on that same thread I should use a braided line with a filter correct also I already have an egt gauge in the same location should I tap this fitting next to it?

When pressurizing the system can I use nitrogen?

Sorry about the questions just trying to learn me a thing or two

Yea I'm gonna figure this out seems to be to hot

I went to the hardware store to get a cover for the turbo everything they have is 4 or 6 inch where can I get five inch pipe

We've always used a 100 psi boost gauge for drive pressure. Tapped into the exhaust manifold and used a length of copper tubing to dissipate the heat. Then regular plastic tubing that comes with the gauge. Been told that the gauge line will soot up after a time, but I've never had one fail yet. The filter is probably a good idea but I've never used one.
