I'm running stock engine , What's the highest point i should'nt reach ?

Last time on 1/8 miles i got a maximum of 1400, it is good ?

If you are watching EGT's going down the track, you need to go faster. Lol

Short runs will not hurt anything. We see over 2000 degrees regularly.

I used to see 1700+ sometimes, but only at the top of the run, a couple seconds worth.

That's why you buy one that only goes to 1600F, no point in knowing if it goes past that. I've had mine burried more than a few times

So when are we going to get Zirconium oxide turbines that can withstand several thousand degrees? And our turbine housing will melt before the turbine fails

I've seen a few burned exhaust valves and I think I saw a photo somewhere of some turbines with some melting/erosion from excessive heat. No first hand evidence of that last part though

I had a turbine wheel start to melt on me. Didnt even notice until i got the turbo back from FI and he sent back the old turbine wheel with it.

I have a 1600* gauge with the warning light set at 1600. Once the light comes on I count to ten or get scared and let off.
