Well i just got my CTS insight this week. and just installed my EGT probe. I am curious as to what i should put my alarm to? i HAVE HEARD that our turbos are good for 1400 pulling up steep long grades so i know not to set it at that. but what should i set it at for when im towing? and also what is normal operating temps while driving. 1000ish?
thanks sorry for such a newb question but this is my first EGT gauge in a truck :D

I try to keep mine around 1250 when pulling hills. It will spike to 1300 - 1400 on downshifts and then I'll back off to bring the temp down again. The spikes quickly had me turn off the alarm. On the hills, the egt has my undivided attention.

I try to keep mine to under 1200 . As long as I had momentum, I could keep the egts down and the speed up heading up the hills throughout tennesee, north carolina and kentucky. Like was stated above, my eyes were locked on the egt gauge going up hill so no real need for an alarm
