Hey guys long time since I've been on, I;m working on my friends 06 LLY and we're having the 402,403 codes, I've replaced the motor but no help, so I think I should pull the egr valve, NO THEY DON'T WANT TO DELETE IT...
So my guestion is I need a procedure for removing the egr valve, I've been searching but I can't find anything. Please help me find this...:)Thanks guys:thumb:

Not sure I'm understanding question:confused: You can use EFI to electronically disable the EGR for race purposes of course:thumb:

I'd like to point out that Smog Control for diesels is here with a vengence. It's OK for an owner to worried about it. While there are many tools for removing the smog off of diesels, it's not for everyone.

If somebody wants to keep their emissions system parts intact and still make big HP, it is more work, but can still be done. Many of us gas-hotrodders have been fighting that battle for years.

That being said, you can completely remove the EGR mechanics and the LBZ will run fine with tuning. We did not remove the EGR from Blue or Wendy, but had to on Casper to run large turbos.

I'm not sure you can change the valve. I think you have to replace the whole egr. If you need to replace the whole thing, I would just try and find someone close to you that has a used egr they don't need.
Otherwise you could just turn the codes off and hope it passes the smog tests!:D

I don't think you can block 403 code... Can you? I think the egr is stuck open with those codes though. Maybe not getting power somehow? If thats the case I would block it, disable the egr and see if you can block that 403 code, you can block the 401 and 402 codes though forsure. Maybe when you turn off the egr through EFI Live it automatically blocks that kind of code, not sure. No smog testing here to worry about though, this ain't Cananada :D

Thanks guys, I was wanting a tear down diagram,, but I just jumped in an figured it out, it wasn't to bad,, u can just change the motor an the valve, I but a whole new motor and valve. The owners just want to keep it stock, an due some tuning to try to help the fuel mileage... since this was my first time working on the lly it took me around 1.45 to do the job...
