I have officially went from expert to newb with EFILive.

I haven't used it in a couple of years, and when I went to program Wendy (LBZ) for the event this weekend, the 7.x software launches then says it can't find the PID config file, and shuts down.

Where should I start to look? I'm afraid to do a reinstall, since I don't know what the status of the EFILive box firmware is.

This is an old XP computer that has seen better days.

You might have to do a complete install. Im not very good with all the software and it was a pain to install the new stuff ( to me ).

Did you search your pids?

No, the last time I updated software was probably 2009?

The software worked for all our trucks, so there was no need for further updates.

Hence why 2 of my computers at work are still MS-DOS 3.3 :D

Not a fan of updating working software.

I'm with you on not updating software. Every pc/phone I've ever owned only gets updated when I absolutely have to. I think of it as trucks. The newer and newer you go, the more security or emissions you get. While if you maintain the old stuff correctly and watch what you do the performance is better

Pat there is nothing wrong with updating the software to the current version. Same goes for the V2 firmware.

EFILive hasnt deleted any emissions capabilities, etc. I would just update it and install everything fresh...

There have been loads of updates in the last 3 years Pat. The good news is that your firmware and bootblock are not that old to require the 10 step process of updating.

As Ben said, do a full install from our website....if you need to use EFILive on Wendy today, then do it today, if you don't, you may choose to wait for the next public release which is about to be sent out to the software build testers. That may be a good option if you don't plan on updating for another 4 years or so.

From a visual perspective, there is a thread on our forum that shows the firmware upgrade process in pictures. I'm sure using this utility within EFILive is new since your last update. Most of the thread won't be helpful in your situation, but the last couple of screen shots may provide some guidance. http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=20952

Yes, I think it's time to start from scratch. My V2 device looks like it passed through the large intestine of a large carnivore.

I found my backup 'puter, but it didn't have anything but Casper files on it. It can read Wendy, so I assume it will flash Wendy when I find/re-write the tunes.

Thanks Cindy!

I'm good right now with my duct tape and JB Weld fix, but it looks like I might be getting back in the game soon. Our local track is supposed to reopen. :thumb:
